FY21 ITR filling deadline has been increased by the government to 30 April 2021. In terms of the current situation the government decided on Thursday to extended the date for individuals by two months.
For the companies, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) also extended the date for RTI filling till 30 November. As per the income tax law, for individuals whose accounts are not required to be audited and who usually file their income tax return using ITR-1 or ITR-4 forms the deadline to file FY21 ITR is July 31. The deadline for taxpayers, like companies or firms, whose accounts are required to be audited is October 31.
The decision is taken just because of the current situation, the tax payers are said to pay the tax as soon as possible. The time limit is given to certain tax compliances only says CBDT.
CBDT added that the deadline for issuing Form 16 by employers to employees has also been extended by one month till 15 July 2021. The last date for transfer pricing certificate and filling the audit tax report is 30 November. For filing belated or revised return of income, the due date is now January 31, 2022.
