Five senior Air India pilots dies due to Covid-19 last month

Five senior Air India pilots lost their lives due to the scarcity of coronavirus vaccine. Few weeks ago the pilots of Air India had been continuously demanding the vaccination for their family and all the crew.

But the result did not come out and Five senior Air India pilots died. The name of the pilots who died are Captain Sandeep Rana, Captain G P S Gill, Captain Prasad Karmakar, Captain Harsh Tiwary and Captain Amitesh Prasad.

Tiwary, 37, died on May 30 and was a first officer on the Boeing 777 aircraft. All of them were operating wide-bodied aircraft being flown for overseas flights, and were a part of Vande Bharat Mission.

The Indian Commercial Pilots’ Association (ICPA) wrote a latter to Captain R S Sandhu and said that the pilots are testing positive and they are being quarantined and succumbing to Covid at an alarming frequency. Their family member are also suffering.

They asked support from the company to continue their work, so that they could keep their families safe and secure.
