Boxer Vijender Singh Pledges To Return Khel Ratna Award If Farmers’ Plea Is Not Heard

The farmers from all across the country are opposing the farm bill. Recently boxer Vijender Singh announced that he will return the prestigious Khel Ratna award if the government does not consider the pleas of the farmers.

Farmers are getting the support of several political and non-political bodies and individuals in their protests against the new farm bill. As the protest is taking a bigger turn several celebrities and personalities are also extending their support for the farmers.

Boxer Vijender Singh recently visited the protest site. He addressed the protesting farmers at the Singhu border and said that he will return the Khel Ratna Award if the government does not hear the pleas of the farmers and withdraw the farm bill.

Vijender also added that the demands of the farmers have to be fulfilled because we cannot let our farmers suffer forever.

BJP Alleges That Vijender Has A Political Agenda Behind Supporting The Farmers

Boxer Vijender Singh’s solidarity with the farmers did not go well with the Bharatiya Janta Party. Many of the members of the BJP are claiming that the boxer has a political agenda behind supporting the farmers.

We know that Vijender has stepped into politics by joining the Congress party. He had also contested the Lok Sabha elections. Therefore BJP is claiming that the Vijender is standing in solidarity with the farmers to support the congress.

The social media is flooded with tweets and posts from BJP members alleging Vijender of using the protests as a tool to show his support to the Congress party. As of now, the 35-year-old boxer has not given any official statements on the claims by the BJP member. But we hope that he will speak on it soon.

Not only Vijender Singh but several other sportsperson and celebrities who are not related to any political party have extended their support to the farmers.
