Naomi Osaka pays $15,000 fine for not speaking at French Open

Naomi Osaka, Japanese professional tennis player pays $15,000 fine because of not speaking at French Open. She was threatened beacuse if skipping the post-match news conference after her first-round victory

Gilles Moretton, the president of the French tennis federation along with the heads of the other three Grand Slam tournaments imposed the fine on the player.

The statement also said that Osaka has been “advised” that “should she continue to ignore her media obligations during the tournament, she would be exposing herself to possible further Code of Conduct infringement consequences.”

Naomi Osaka updated a post in her official Twitter account and said that she will not be attending ant news conference during the French Open. She updated the news after she payed the fine.
