“Mindhunter” is Netflix’s one of the best crime thriller series. It made its debut in October 2017 followed by another mind-blowing season in August 2019. After that, all we did was waiting for season three to embrace our screens.
“Mindhunter” Season 3: Release Date
Our anticipation for “Mindhunter” Season 3 increased after the release of its second season. It was indeed so amazing that we could not help craving for more.
We were pretty sure that Netflix will surely consider renewing the series looking at its fan following and success. But we were completely wrong! The series has been officially put on hold by the makers.
Yes! It was during an interview on January 15, 2020, that the makers of the series David Fincher made some revelations on the future of the series. When asked about the making of season three he did not sound quite positive.
He said that the project is on hold due to several issues like budget, hectic schedules and other commitments. But he also gave us a hint that the contracts with the actors have not been cancelled yet and Netflix has also not officially cancelled it. Apart from that Fincher has also revealed that maybe at some point in time he might bring in another season.
But one thing is clear that the third instalment of this series isn’t happening anytime soon.
“Mindhunter” Season 3: Plot
This series gave us insights into infamous murder mysteries which took place in the past few decades. Our protagonists are two FBI agents named Holden Ford and Bill Tench who not only solves the mysteries but also studies the psychological behaviour of the criminals.
And maybe this is what gives this show a unique twist. Most crime thriller series focuses only on the crime and the criminal and not on the reason for why the criminal did it.
But “Mindhunter” actually revealed what was going on inside the heads of those criminals while committing those heinous crimes. Therefore we couldn’t get enough of this series. If Fincher actually brings in another season shortly we will expect him to include other infamous murder and crime mysteries and give us a total insight into it.
