John McAfee, a famous software engineer has been arrested in Spain for fraud in the United States, he is going to jail on Tuesday pending extradition procedures. He has been arrested at Barcelona airport while boarding the flight to Istanbul with a British passport, sources said.
Mr McAfee is famous for being in controversies. Some Official source said McAfee was presented to a high court judge through a video call while preceding and sent to the jail without bail where he will await the extradition process to the US.
John McAfee founded the software company McAfee Associates & McAfee Antivirus in 1987 and ran it until 1994. He is also very passionate about Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency things where most of the scams happened in the past on the name of ICO and IPO.

An Official source, from the Catalonia region’s justice department, said he was in the Brians 1 jail, which was opened in 1991 in an industrial area 45 minutes by car from Barcelona. Some local politicians have been jailed there for corruption charges. No other representatives were immediately contactable. He is alleged to have earned millions on dollars in income from promoting scam cryptocurrencies, as well as consulting work, speaking engagements, and selling the rights to his life story for a documentary. SEC also alleges him with tax frauds due to Crypto transactions.
After he was arrested, McAfee’s official Instagram account posted a message “Free McAfee” with photo of him.
