Germany suggests booster shots for all those ages 12-17

Germany had its largest single daily increase in infections on Thursday, Germany’s vaccine advisory body, known as STIKO, has advised Covid-19 booster shots for all children and teens aged 12 to 17.

The committee suggested that the booster doses be an mRNA vaccine from Pfizer/BioNTech, according to a written statement. STIKO also recommended that booster injections be given three months after the last immunization dosage.

STIKO advised that all children and teens aged 12 to 17 years old be vaccinated with the Covid-19 vaccine in August.

On Thursday, German health minister and epidemiologist Karl Lauterbach urged German legislators in parliament to vote yes on a critical vote on whether to establish a comprehensive vaccination mandate by the end of March or the country “would face dire consequences.”
