Adele, the most gorgeous and talented singer has given a hit album in 2021. It is reported that Adele’s 30 was the best-selling album of 2021, within a six-week sale.
Her album “divorce album” was around 600,000 copies sold with 80% of those sales on CD and vinyl, bucking the trend towards streaming.
However, it is a long cry from her previous album, 25, which sold 800,000 copies in its first week.
The disparity demonstrates how singles have come to dominate the music industry, due to streaming, which now accounts for 83 percent of consumption.
Last year, the UK streamed a record 147 billion tracks, up 5.7 percent from 2020.
