Debuting in 2018 “Violet Evergarden” was indeed an anime series that left an impression in our hearts. A perfect blend of drama, emotion and fantasy, this series is indeed something to look forward to. After its first season, we all are looking forward to the release of the second instalment.
It has been almost three years since “Violet Evergarden” Season 1 hit the screens and bewitched us with the amazing storyline. Produced by Kyoto Animation the first season earned a separate fan base.
After the first season, two movies were also released under the same franchise in 2019 and 2020. But even that could not take away our anticipation for the second instalment.
The series was never cancelled by the production house and hence we knew that a second season will surely be there. Although it faced a delay because the makers were devoted to the works related to the making of the two movies. Since both the movies have graced the screens, official sources have notified that the makers are in talks for “Violet Evergarden” Season 2.
Some sources have also speculated that the writers are already working on the script and it is expected to be ready soon. So if these sources are to be believed then the production is slated to begin by mid-2021.
So if this really goes as planned then the second instalment of Violet Evergarden might be out by early or mid-2022.
The cute and heart touching plotline of this anime series indeed makes it one of a kind. As the story shed light on our central character who is an auto memory doll named “Violet Evergarden.”
In the first season, we saw the different shades of the doll starting from her past to present life. She was created to help a blind lady in writing her autobiography. As we dug deeper into the series we found out that Violet was a war survivor, not as a victim but as a fighter.
Yes, our protagonist was a female soldier. Her journey was indeed terrifying because she lost someone dear to her in the war. Although not clear, but the first season did show us that Major Gilbert meant a lot to her. There was a scene where we saw a badly hurt major Gilbert trying to convey something to Violet.
Although it was not specified on what he said or did he make it to the end. So the second instalment will finally reveal if Major Gilbert made to the end or did he just sacrifice his life in the war. If he is alive, will he ever come looking for her? What were his last words that Violet is still trying to decode?
All these will be revealed in the upcoming season.
