New Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness Image Shows Wong Having A Bad Day

So far, we know very little about how the “Multiverse of Madness” events will unfold, but guessing is always fun. Who built Wong and to what end? Is it some kind of sacrifice?

Personally, I think other magicians are responsible for building it, as evidenced by the magical restraints mentioned above. Specifically, I’m guessing that the corrupt version of Doctor Strange we first met in episode 4 of the Disney + exclusive “What if …?” The series is to blame. This episode features an alternate timeline of events in which Strange’s girlfriend, Dr. Christine Palmer has a tragic end. Strange, unable to cope with the loss of her lover, she sets out to prevent her death, eventually leading to her own tragic corruption and the destruction of her respective universe. This “evil” universe-destroying version of Doctor Strange is known as “Strange Supreme” because it absorbs the powers of other magical entities in an attempt to become powerful enough to bring Christine back.

Why is this relevant? Because in the “Multiverse of Madness” trailer, we can see a glimpse of another Doctor Strange that looks remarkably similar to Strange Supreme. If this is indeed an evil version of Doctor Strange, perhaps he has found a way to escape from his perishable universe and resume his quest to move things forward. If this is the case, I’m guessing he either wants to exploit Wong’s magic to become more powerful, or he’s just trying to stop Wong from interfering. Or maybe Wong is being used as a bait. The possibilities are endless.

We don’t really know how things will turn out in the next Marvel movie, but what we do know is that Wong will have a very unpleasant time at some point. I just hope he survives, but we’ll have to wait and see until “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” hits theaters on May 6.
